About Nick Curran
Nick Curran plays on a sparkling black reissue 80's Gretsch Duo Jet guitar and Vero amp with 4x10's. These recordings are blues, but Nick jumps with 50's style rockabilly. His first band was with his Dad in Mike Curran and the Tremors, but soon he was off to Texas touring with Ronnie Dawson and Kim Lenz. After moving to Texas, he started getting into the blues music of T-Bone Walker, Little Richard, and Guitar Slim. Nick released a couple of solo recordings before getting with Blind Pig Records, where he won the W.C. Handy Award for Best New Artist Debut. Soon he found himself playing and recording with Kim Wilson and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. When Nick is not out touring with the Thunderbirds, you can find him playing or hanging with the Northside Kings. Nick Curran appears courtesy of Blind Pig Records.
